Foundational Mat + Anatomy

This immersive, evidence-based training blends anatomy, movement theory, and real teaching practice. You’ll develop the confidence to lead classes, support diverse bodies, and teach Pilates with true understanding — not memorization.

Foundational Reformer

Expand your expertise through this 150-hour course focused on the Pilates Reformer repertoire. You’ll learn to design creative, effective programs and teach with confidence across levels and client needs. *Completion of a mat + anatomy course is strongly recommended.

Format: Hybrid (approx. 70% in studio / 30% online)

Dates: May 1 – June 20, 2026

Schedule: Weekend-based (Friday evenings online, Saturdays + Sundays in studio)

    You’ll graduate ready to:

    • Teach both private + group Mat classes

The Pilates Process™ founder

Meet Laura Helsel

Laura Helsel is the founder of Pilates Process™ in Toronto and a lifelong mover with roots in dance and education. After years of teaching and mentoring through Stott Pilates™, she developed her own method — one that blends therapeutic understanding with a creative, adaptive approach to movement.

For over two decades, Laura has been guiding and inspiring new teachers through the Pilates Process™ Teacher Training. In partnership with Good Forme Pilates, she brings her depth of experience, warmth, and curiosity to every training weekend — helping future instructors learn to teach with both confidence and care.

  • No prior teaching experience is required!

    Good Forme Pilates welcomes every body eager to learn Pilates, whether you’re starting a new career, deepening your personal practice, or expanding your teaching skills. We encourage everyone to join us on this journey.

    For the greatest success in our teacher training program, we recommend the following:

    Module 1 | Mat + Anatomy

    • A regular Mat Pilates practice (at least 3 months)

    Module 2 | Reformer

    • A regular Reformer Pilates practice (at least 3 months)

    • Completion of a Mat + Anatomy course

  • We required a minimum of 5 participants in order to run the course.

    To ensure individualized attention, discussion + collaboration, the maximum available spots is limited to 12.

  • At GFP, we emphasize strong communication and adaptability. If you’re unable to make a lecture, just let us know in advance so we can help you stay on track and ensure you don’t miss any critical components.

    To keep your learning experience complete, we ask that for every 2 hours missed, you schedule a 1-hour 1:1 make-up session with us at an additional cost of $130/hour.

  • A non refundable deposit of $1,000 is required to reserve your spot in the course.

    Balance of tuition is due 1 month prior to course commencement.

    Payment plans are available (to be discussed on case by case basis).

  • You are able to cancel the course up to 1 month prior to course commencement.

    Your $1,000 deposit is non-refundable.

    In the instance of injury or illness, we will schedule you to attend a future course.

  • Yes! You will receive certification upon successful completion of course requirements and exam.

  • The exam will consist of both a written and practical component. Exam times will be scheduled at the end of the course. You are encouraged to complete the exam within 3 months of course completion.

  • We encourage graduates to apply for an audition at Good Forme.

    While we believe graduates of the training walk away with the skills and knowledge to be effective Pilates instructors, employment at GFP is not guaranteed.

  • Pilates Process™ is well known in Toronto and the GTA as well as in areas where we hold trainings such as Thunder Bay, St Catharines, Vancouver, Surrey BC, Kelowna and Alberta. Pilates Process™ teachers teach beyond those borders because studios everywhere are often looking for well trained teachers who are knowledgeable and effective.
